The Cherub is a fantastic value for the student of the Hammered Dulcimer, or even if you just need one that is easier to transport.
Sized 12/11 (indicating 12 courses over the treble bridge and 11 courses over the bass bridge), the Cherub's design includes two octaves each in the keys of G and C, and one octave each in the keys of D and F.
The solid hardwood frame consists of walnut and maple. The back of the instrument is quarter sawn maple, and the tone wood is your choice of either quarter sawn mahogany or walnut. Scroll-sawn basswood supports under each bridge help the instrument maintain tune without interfering with resonance. The bridges are made of hard maple and inlaid with walnut sight marks. The Cherub can be tuned entirely on the right side of the instrument, no switching back and forth, and alternating colored tuning pins easily identify the treble bridge from the bass bridge.
Price includes everything you need to start playing now: Hand-made hammers, electronic tuner, tuning key, and instructional book.
